### Winter’s Beautiful Breeze
Winter brings a peaceful charm and wonderful beauty to the world, which is dressed in a bright white coat of snow. When temperatures are cooler, the air is cold enough to feel crisp and refreshing, so each breath produces a feeling of serenity in the body. When there is a thick covering of snow, the land becomes a magical sight, like something out of a storybook, because each inch is draped in a glistening white snow blanket. Snowflakes dancing gracefully from the sky bring amazement and childlike delight to anyone who is watching them.
Snow is a beautiful wonder of nature. Each snowflake is an intricate crystalline structure having six points of symmetry, resulting in no two snowflakes ever being identical. When the snow falls, it creates an almost dream-like silence that adds to the peace and surreal feeling of this time of year because sounds become muted by the level of the snow. The weight of the fresh snow creates piles of soft, powdery drifts that collect on rooftops, roads, and tree branches, causing them to sparkle like desecrated earth covered by strings of diamonds when the sun rises. In the late afternoon, as the sun sets below the horizon, the snow will take on the color of the sun as it reflects the sunlight creating a magical winter glow of pink, orange, and lavender.
Nature takes a break to provide us opportunities for stillness and reflection. Trees play a huge role in the beautiful visual effect that exists during the winter season, as the branches of trees are bare during winter and are a stark contrast to the pale winter sky. The frozen frost that glistens in the sunlight also creates the appearance of sculptures or glass and dramatically add beauty and awe to this season’s wonder. The evergreen trees have a soft, dark hue; therefore, they are great because they add depth to the landscape and look very prominent against the white snow they are surrounded by. The weight of the freshly fallen snow on the tree creates a visual similar to that of a classic painting; therefore, the look of trees in winter, although very simple, are a very calming and beautiful sight that embodies the spirit of the season.
Fields and rooftops are aglow in the light of the sun; therefore, they are create a very peaceful environment for us to see the beauty of this season. The reflection of the moonlight on the snow covered earth at night creates a beautiful glowing environment that makes even the darkest part of the world always feel bright. The time of year is filled with contrast; for example, cold days and warm evenings spent on the couch with friends or with a warm drink like cocoa or tea. In addition, every street and every house is lit up with several different types of beautiful, festive decorations which provides us with joy during our family and friend gatherings. The crunching sound made from our feet walking on the ground covered in snow, the thrill of sledding down a hill or slope, and the sound of the brisk wind blowing during a winter snowstorm are what will make this season unforgettable.
Through the warm and serene feelings of wintertime, it invites us to enjoy winter’s peace; to exist in a place of comfort on still winter days; and to enjoy the beauty in all of the wonderful things that have taken place to create a transformed world of great beauty by the freezing of the earth and falling of the snow. Therefore, this time of year gives us all an opportunity to relax, slow down, think, and appreciate all the small, beautiful things that take place in the world throughout the season of winter.
